Imphal, August 23: A bomb hurled by unidentified persons exploded at the residential compound of MLA of Wangkhem A/C L Meghachandra at Yairipok Bishnuhana under Yairipok Police Station at around 7.40 pm today.

Apart from damage some portion of the outhouse, there is no report of any human casualty in the attack.

On the other hand, unidentified armed persons also hurled a Chinese-made hand grenade inside the Nambol Leimapokpam residential compound of Agriculture Minister N Loken at around 4.40 pm today.

The bomb, however, did not explode and has been retrieved by the police.

Bomb defused: Bomb squad of the State Police today retrieved and later defused a hand grenade which was found lying near LYS Cement shop just opposite to Kwakeithel Police Outpost at around 5.30 am today.
