Imphal, March 22 2009: The 48-hour state wide general strike called by the JAC against the killing of Priyobarta in Manipur concluded on Sunday without much impact as a whole except along the Mayang Imphal road stretch of the deceased locality at Monsangei.

Priyobarta, 25, s/o A.Rajen of Mongsangei Boroi Makhong in Imphal West was, as per reports, killed in an encounter with Imphal East commandos on March 15 at Langol in Imphal West.

However, the report was denied by the family and held that the victim was innocent and that he was killed in a fake encounter.
