Imphal, August 04: Thadou Students� Association, Sadar Hills District Committee has appealed to ANSAM to call off the ongoing economic blockade on the two National Highways of Manipur as well as to the State Government for bringing about an amicable solution to the vexed issue, in the interest of the student community in particular and the people of the State in general.

In a statement, president of the students� body H Marcel Lhouvum asserted that imposition of economic blockade will not bring any solution, rather than worsening the already crumbling economic condition of the people especially the hill inhabitants.

Making a fervent appealed to ANSAM to initiate alternative democratic means to meet their demand like sit-in-protest, dialogues and other forms of democratic protest, TSA also warned the shop owners in Sadar Hills area against hiking the prices of the essential commodities by taking advantage of the economic blockade.
