Imphal, June 12 2009: JAC constituted against the killing of Prof Md Islamuddin warned that it would call a State-wide 48-hour general strike if the State Government fails to take up necessary actions to start investigation into the killing by June 21.The stir will enforce from 4 am of June 22, a press statement of the JAC said.

The statement also expressed serious note on State Govt's attitude for not allowing to start the probe by the Central insvestigating agency even though it was agreed during a meeting between the CM and JAC members.

The JAC also expressed reservations over not booking the Vice Chancellor and Registrar of the varsity in connection with the assassination.
