Imphal, March 11: Taking strong exception to the bomb attack undertaken by the proscribed PREPAK at the Thongju Part-I Pheija Leitong residence of MLA Bijoy Koijam at about 6 pm yesterday, protest sittings were staged at two different places today.

The protest sittings staged by the Meira Paibis of Thongju Pheija Leitong and surrounding areas held placards which read as "We condemn bomb attack in civilian areas", "Don't intimidate civilians", "Give up gun culture" etc.

A similar protest sitting against the bomb attack was also staged at Khongman Students' Club community hall.

On the other hand, different organisations and clubs have strongly condemned the bomb attack which caused serious mental disturbance and fear psychosis among the people, particularly students who are appearing metric and class II exams.

Strongly condemning the bomb attack, the Rising Star Club Thongju Waikhom Khongnang has also appealed to all concerned not to repeat such violent activities in future.

In a press release, the People Development Organisation, Thongju has also condemned the bomb attack.
