Imphal, February 06: Strongly reacting to the allegations of the proscribed UNLF that the bomb blast which killed three women at New Samtal was planted by the security force, the PRO of Assam Rifles in a statement today said that the claim of the outfit was baseless and without foundation.

The PRO said that the media has already been informed that militants had indiscriminately planted IEDs in and around the area leading to 30 civilian casualties.

A media team had also witnessed an IED blast victim during a visit on December 14, last year, recalled the PRO.

Moreover a large number of personnel were injured in IED blasts during the sanitising process.
