Imphal, October 28 2009: The PLA cadre slain in a gun-battle with security forces at Phaoren hills in Chandel district yesterday has been identified as Nongmaithem Naoba alias Henba (25) s/o Mangi of Phumlou Mamang Leikai.

He left home and joined the PLA at a tender age.

His elder brother who was also a PLA cadre was killed in an encounter with Assam Rifles troops.

Meanwhile, corpses of both Boinu and Naocha killed yesterday at Uyumpok Mamang Leikai have been claimed by respective families from RIMS mortuary today.
