Imphal, October 24 2009: Denouncing the grenade attack at the Keishampat Thokchom Leikai residence of Thokchom Budhachandra yesterday evening that left two persons wounded, a protest demonstration was staged by the local people along the roadside of Thokchom Leikai today.

Placards inscribed with slogans like 'We condemn grenade attack in populated area', 'Its no bravado to hurl bomb in public places', 'Stop terrorising the people', etc were used by the protestors.

Meanwhile, Keishampat Thokchom Leikai Nishaband Amasung Meira Paibi and Manipur Peoples Club, Kwai Thokchom Leikai, in separate statements, have strongly decried the last night's grenade attack and appealed to all concerned to ensure such incidents are not repeated.
