Imphal, October 10 2008: The Anal Students' Union has strongly condemned the alleged excess committed by security personnel on tribal students of Manipur University during their agitation on October 6, conveyed an ALT release.

Saying that it has learnt about some students leaders of MUTSU beaten blue and black by 'outsiders' inside the campus at the alleged instigation of the Vice-Chancellor and MU authorities, the student body pledged support to any kind of agitation taken up by ATSUM and MUTSU if such is the attitude of MU authorities.

It further appealed to the Chief Minister to redress the grievances and genuine rights of tribal students' community at the earliest.
