Imphal, April 27: 32 Assam Rifles averted a major tragedy by detecting an IED between Kakwa and Lilong planted in a gulab jamun tin that was filled with PEK weighing about 1 kg.

Traffic was stopped immediately to avoid any loss of life and property, said a press release.

The bomb was disposed later by the IED squad, the release added.
