Imphal, July 23: Setting July 25 as the deadline for considering its demands, the JAC formed in protest against the killing of Haorokcham Somendro Singh of Bishnupur Ward No.8 and Meinam Somen Singh of Bishnupur Ward No.6 by Imphal West District Police Commandos after being picked up on July 15 today submitted a memorandum to the Chief Minister.

Contending that the two slain persons were innocent civilians, the memorandum demanded instituting of a judicial inquiry into the incident, befitting punishment against the commandos involved and payment of rehabilitation packages to the two bereaved families.

In case the Govt fails to give a positive response on these demands within 6 pm of July 25, the JAC warned that it would call a general strike along Tiddim Road from the following day.
