Imphal, August 10: Communist Party of India (Marxist), Manipur State Committee has welcomed the decision of the All Naga Students' Association to lift its 51-day old economic blockade along the National Highways with effect from tomorrow noon.

Even if the people of Manipur have suffered untold miseries during the last 51 days, the decision of ANSAM, though late, to lift the economic blockade in consideration of the appeals made by the people is appreciable, State unit party secretary Dr Yumnam Mahendra said in a statement.

He also hailed the people of Manipur both in the hills and the valley districts for their mature understanding in ensuring maintenance of peace and harmony and not trying to rake up communal feeling during the hard times while the economic blockade was in force.
