Imphal, September 02: The identity of the suspected UG shot dead by a combined force of Imphal West Police Commandos and 32 AR during an encounter last night at Langthabal Apokpa Khul near MU campus has been established today.

The slain UG suspect was one Yumnam Sanjoy alias Ibomcha (26) s/o Mani of Nongada Thongkhong.

According to police, Sanjoy was a KCP activist who had been earlier arrested and put in jail by Police Com mandos in 2002.
