Imphal, December 11 2008: Three suspected UG cadres have been slain in two separate incidents of reported encounter with Thoubal police commandos and troops of 34 AR in Thoubal district today.

The first incident took place at Yerumching located to the East of Uyan village in between Thokchom and Langmeithet at about 5.45 pm, informed a police source.

In the reported encounter with a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 34 AR, two suspected UG cadres were slain.

One sten carbine and a country made pistol have been recovered from their possession.

The second incident took place about half an hour later near the gate of Heirok village on the road leading to the brick field.

In the shoot-out with Thoubal police commandos, one more suspected UG cadre was shot dead.

One pistol was recovered from his possession, added the source.
