Imphal, December 23 2008: SECURITY personnel on duty on the southern side of the Raj Bhavan fired a round this evening at around 5.44 pm when a motorcyclist driving at the back of a car drive away even though asked to stop for checking, according to a eye-witness account.

The incident occurred two day after a bomb exploded inside the Raj Bhavan and while maximum security measure by detailing heavy security personnel was taken up to prevent recurrence of the incident.

But then asked to the security personnel by the reporter, they said that no firing occurred.

They said, it was the sound of beating on a sign board when a youth failed to stop when asked for.
