Imphal, December 13 2008: COMBINED FORCE of Imphal East police commandos and troops of 32 Assam Rifles killed a youth suspected to be an activist of PULF in what they claimed to be in an encounter with some suspected underground elements around 2.30 pm today at Keirao Bitra under Irilbung police station.

Two other suspects managed to escape, police report said adding that a 9mm pistol loaded with five live rounds recovered from the slain suspect.

The lifeless body of the unidentified suspect has been retrieved from the spot by the Irilbung police and deposited as RIMS morgue for official procedure this afternoon.
