Jiribam, January 17: The identities of the two suspected KCP activists who were shot dead by Imphal West Police Commandos during an encounter at Lamdeng Khunou under Lamlai Police Station yesterday have been established today.

The two are identified as Heisnam Olen (35) s/o late Samungou of Thanga Heisnam Leikai and Nameirakpam Mocha (32) s/o Kheda of Kwakeithel Mayai Leikai but staying at Lalambung Takhellambam Leikai.

The bereaved family members, however, claimed that both of them have been picked up by some unidentified armed persons who came in a car while the duo were repairing a vehicle in a workshop at Uripok Achom Leikai yesterday morning.

On the other hand, out of the three persons shot dead by unidentified gunmen at Meitram Awang Leikai under Nambol PS last night, the identities of two have been established today.

They are Takhellambam Romesh (22) s/o T Sadhu of Ithai Warukok but staying at Naoremthong and driving a rickshaw for livelihood and Sorokhaibam Sanjoy (21) s/o Manikanta of Ithai Warukok.

According to family members, father of Sanjoy, Manikanta also drives rickshaw and stays at Naoremthong.

Romesh and Sanjoy were friends and they have gone out together from the rented room at Naoremthong at around 8 am of Jan 16.
