Imphal, November 12 2008: WITH ONE more wounded person succumbing this morning, the death toll of October 21 blast at Ragailong has risen to 18, according to JAC against the Bomb Blast between AR Transit Camp and Commando Complex near Ragailong Gate, Imphal.

Mention may be made that in the blast that occurred nearby the transit camp of the Assam Rifles and police commando complex on the night of October 21, at least 17 people had died while leaving several other with injuries including seriously injured ones.

Md Shahid Ali (28) son of of Keirao Makting Mayai Leikai currently residing at CMT commando complex who has been hospitalized at Shija Hospital with severe injuries in the blast succumbed this morning, the JAC in a statement said.

While expressing sorrow in the dead of Shahid, the JAC has also reiterated its appeal to all concerns not to indulge in such activities of targeting innocent civilians.

It also observed two minute silent while condoling to his dead.

The JAC also urged the state government to pay compensation to the family of the decease on time.
