Imphal, May 02: The Lakhipur Police, Cachar, Assam have retrieved a body floating down the Barak river on a raft at Sonbari Ghat yesterday, reports our Jiribam correspondent.

The deceased has been identified as Vanlalriem Khojol (23) s/o Kapsang of Patpuihmum of Tipaimukh sub-division of Churachandpur district.

According to police, the deceased seemed to have been murdered as there were multiple injuries marks hit by a sharp weapon all over the body.

An FIR has been lodged with the Lakhipur Police Station in this connection.
