Imphal, March 13, 2010: A hand grenade has been recovered from the roof-top of one Simreijon in Ukhrul district headquarters at around 7.30 am today.

An LDC in the Revenue department of the district, Simreijon's house is located about 100 metres south of the Ukhrul Deputy Commissioner's office compound.

A police source said, the explosive item had been retrieved by a team of Ukhrul district police and latter exploded at a safe site.

The source also quoted Simrei'jon as saying that he heard a thud on the roof on March 11 night only to discover the hand-grenade today.
