Imphal, May 06: Unidentified persons exploded a bomb at the Fairyland residence of a special contractor identified as Apam Shimray this evening.

There is no report of human casualty in the incident.

As per police speculation, the explosive device is likely to be country-made bomb.

Shortly after the explosion, IRB personnel deployed at near the entrance to Khuman Lampak Main Stadium on frisking duty opened fire as a motorist sped away on being signalled to stop for checking.
