Imphal, February 27, 2010: A students' hostel at Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai, which housed around 30 students, was reduced to ashes by a sudden fire that broke out at around 8:30 tonight.

Luckily, no student was injured in the incident as they were all gone home for Yaoshang holidays.

However, two persons including a fireman were injured when they were trying to control the razing inferno.

The injured persons are identified as fireman Guisingam Kabui and the owner of the hostel, Tongbram Motilal.

The wooden hostel, Guidance Tutorial centre is in the first floor of the two storeyed house with RCC building in the ground floor.

The fire reduced the whole first floor wooden house and all the belongings of the students into ashes.

Fire service personnel took around half an hour in controlling the fire.
