Imphal, December 23 2009: Unidentified persons fired a few shots at the Sagolband Salam Leikai residence of Thokchom Joykumar (55), Farm Manager of State Horticulture Department located at Mantripukhri at about 5.30 am yesterday.

There was an intimation from the UKLA on December 19 to Joykumar to pay them Rs 3 lakhs by December 21.Even as there was no casualty in the firing, it caused panic to the girls staying in Thokchom Girls' Hostel, opened in Joykumar's residence.

Decrying the attack, students of the hostel staged a protest demonstration at Sagolband Salam Leikai yesterday.
