Imphal, June 21 2010: Decrying the inaction of the state government for holding re-poll of 20 Sagang ADC Constituency, Churachandpur where Kom people were not allowed to exercise their franchise in the ADC election, the Sagang Area Kom-Rem Women Development Society will boycott the counting of votes of ADC election starting tomorrow.

In a statement issued today by its Secretary, the Society condemned the act of preventing Kom voters from exercising their franchise at the polling stations of Dampi and Saiton Khullen of 20 Sagang ADC Constituency by Independent candidate Tongminthang Lhungdim.

The Society will boycott the counting of votes of ADC election starting from tmorrow.

It will prevent the agents of INC candidate from attending the counting.

The society also support the call of the JAC formed for the same issue for boycotting the ongoing census.

The statement further conveyed that Tongminthang Lhungdim if declared elected shall be boycotted by the Koms if the ballot boxes of Dampi and Saiton Khullen are included in the counting.
