Imphal, November 18: Forensic investigation into the bomb blast at Videocon House at Paona Bazar on November 16 which killed one and injured four others has established that the explosive was a local made hand grenade, disclosed police sources.

The bomb was made of a hollow bamboo piece using detonators and ball bearings as splinters.

To a query whether the bomb attack was politically motivated, the source evaded a direct reply but insisted that involvement of a particular UG group is being probed.

Search Ops: A search operation was conducted in Thangmeiband Polem Leikai and surrounding areas this morning.

About 24 youths were pulled up on suspicion but later set free after verification.
