Imphal, November 06 2009: The identity of the man found hung to death atop Chingmeirong Cheiraoching on October 25 has been identified as one Meisnam Chinglemba s/o Kesho of Yairipok Khoirom Maning Leikai.

The corpse has been claimed by family members today.

However, the identity of the UG suspect killed in a reported encounter by troops of 29 AR at Laiten village, about 12 kms North of Tengnoupal police station on October 31 cannot be established till date.

A notification issued by the OC of Tengnoupal police station said that the corpse would be disposed off in case the same cannot be identified by November 8 .

It was already reported that the camouflage pants worn by the deceased did not fit him.
