Imphal, September 02 2009: Unidentified persons lobbed a Chinese hand-grenade at the Khurai Sajor Leikai residence of Senior Consultant of RIMS's Engineering Cell namely tongbram Manihar yesterday afternoon.

The explosive device, detected at the courtyard of the former Chief Engineer of Loktak Development Authority, Tongbram Manihar, at around 1.20 pm was recovered by a team of police bomb squad thereby preventing any collateral damage.

In protest against the act, doctors and staff of RIMS staged a sit-in demonstration at the hospital premises today.
