Imphal, July 27: Referring to the current issue of kidnapping young children, the proscribed KCP has flatly rejected its involvement.

A statement issued by the outfit's chief project officer Major M Nongthang asserted that there is no guarantee that these kidnapping incidents might not be handiwork of certain individuals or gangs undertaken just for the sake of money.

There is also no guarantee that the hands of pro-Indian and adversary elements who are allegedly always scheming to present the revolutionary movement in the wrong light and alienate the insurgents from the public might not be present in these incidents of kidnapping young children, it noted.

Either way, the practice of kidnapping young children cannot be justified and it is a highly reprehensible act, Nongthang observed.

Appreciating the various protest movements launched by the people in different parts of the State against kidnapping children, it observed that history stands testimony to the fact it was always the public who endeavoured and brought solutions to all outstanding problems of the land.

Reacting to the statement of Thoubal police commandos published on July 12 and 21 through media mentioning Major Nongthang as belonging to KCP (MC), allegedly based on false information provided by some informers, the outfit remarked that it was a blatant lie.

Saying that the informers have been identified, it pledged that they would not allowed to go scot free.

Informing that KCP general secretary KK Nganba alias Manglemjao alias Irabot, Lamphel Luwangcha, Kokkai Meitei and City Meitei are now staying together at a place outside the State, it claimed that efforts are on to unite KCP factions.

It further exuded confidence that a united KCP can be rebuilt within a short time.
