Imphal, August 11: Expressing reservations over the exclusion of L Monika, former Union State Minister Th Chaoba suggetsed that an investigation on the matter must be carried out with the direction of a competant Court.

Meanwhile, National Congress Party, Manipur Pradesh would take up the issue at the meeting of North Eastern NCP Committee to be held from August 18 .

All Manipur Bar Association (AMBA) in a general body meeting held today decided to urge the Centre to cosntitute Judicial enquiry by a sitting or retired Judge of Supreme Court to ascertain the actual facts on the Monika case.

The association also decided to cosntitute a committee of five members including senior Advocates of the association to exetend legal assistance to the weightlifter.

Expressing concern over the dropping of L Monika from the Beijing squad, All Zeliangrong Students' Union (Assam, Manipur, Nagaland) said that the union would stand by the weightlifter at this time of pain and would join in the fightings for justice on the issue.

Meanwhile condemnations various organisations on the exclusion of the weightlifter from the Beijing squad in the last minute were pouring in today as well.

All Manipur Joint Government Higher Secondary Students' Union, Thoubal District Amateur Boxing Association, All Manipur Democratic Women Association, Blooming Athletics and Sports Union, NH-53 Kanglei Ching Tam Leimalup, Integrated Congress of Women Entrepreneurs, Women's United Development Organisation Manipur, Islamic Development Council Manipur, United Clubs Organisation, Salai Apunba Nupi Lamjing Lup, Lamlong Keithel Phambi Apunba Lup, All Manipur Nupi Marup, Bharatiya Janata Party Mahila Morcha, All Manipur Tammi-Chingmi Apunba Nupi Lup, Pioneer Eleven Sporting Union condemned the exclusion of Monika.
