SPF meet reviews talk outcome

Imphal, August 05: A meeting of the SPF Legislatures was held today to discuss the ongoing economic blockade along the National Highways as well as to review the outcome of the preliminary talks held with the agitating ANSAM.

The meeting chaired Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh also decided to supply fertilizers to the farmers through the agents.

Informing this to The Sangai Express, convenor of the SPF Legislature Dr M Nara said that Government would continue to hold talks with ANSAM so that an amicable solution could be bring about to end the present deadlock.

Reiterating that the outcome of the first round of talks held with the agitating student body was positive, Dr Nara expressed optimism that the response of the student body for holding the next round of talk is likely to be received by tomorrow.

The two-hour long meeting also reviewed the outcome of the talks held, Dr Nara disclosed.

Today�s meeting also decided to supply fertilizers to the farmers through their respective agents instead of distributing the same through MLAs earlier, he informed.

The cost of the fertilizer would be controlled by the Government, he added.

Denying the allegation that Government isplaying politics in distribution of fertilizers, Dr Nara asserted that the fertilizers were distributed through MLAs as there is shortage of the same and to ensure that it is made available to the farmers.

Meanwhile, another source Centre has today instruction the State Government for taking appropriate action against the agitators who are imposing economic blockade along the National Highway.
