Imphal, January 02: Bijoy Koijam of Pheijaleitong under Thongju Kendra will contest the 8th Assembly election as a Manipur State Congress Party candidate, a press release of MSCP said.

A one day political conference of the MSCP attended by its president and MP Th Chaoba besides resolving on the allocation of MSCP ticket to Bijoy also deliberated at length on the activation of political campaign and setting up of political offices at various Assembly constituencies.

The meeting unanimously resolved to expedite election process from Jan 6.Meanwhile, president of MSCP reconstituted the Khangabok Kendra committee of the party by approving appointment of twenty two member office bearers and executive members with Laishram Ibomcha and Th Biral as the president and general secretary respectively.

Naoria BJP: BJP Naoria Pakhang Lakpa Mandal has asked all the three persons - Gunendro Pebiya, M Chaoba Meitei and Sh Ibochou Sharma, who applied for the party's ticket to contest the ensuing 8th Manipur Assembly election, to submit their bio-data to the Mandal president on or before Jan 5.
