KSO Chandel expresses concern

Imphal, August 31 2009: As per report of its fact finding committee constituted to investigate an accident that killed a youth at a place between Moltuk and Kotal Khunthak villages on July 2, Kuki Students' Organisation, Chandel district has asked the concerned accused to come forward and perform all necessary customary laws.

KSO further warned that it would launch a hunt for the culprit if he fails to surrender.

A press release of the students' body said that a DI Tata, white in colour is said to have gone to Moltuk Army post in connection with delivering materials for a PCO for the post, and while on its way back the vehicle collided with a Yamaha which was riding by the youth Ngamboi Aimol (25) of Aimol Khunjai village.

Aimol died at the spot due to injuries, but the DI Tata sped away as there was nobody around at the moment, the release added.

KSO further said that it was found during investigation that one Ningombam Samananda Singh s/o Sanajaoba of Malom Hiyanthang got the contract for opening of the PCO with phone numbers 03872-202539/202540 at the Army post.

The students' body added that the KSO would like the person to come forward and explain or defend himself on the said issue by September 4 .

The suspect would be taken as the accused if he fails to come forward within the given time, the press release added.

Meanwhile, father of the deceased, S Alianbum Aimol has lodged a complaint with Chandel SP in this regard on August 29 .
