Imphal, July 24: Ahead of the expiry of the 8-year old ceasefire agreement on July 31, the Government of India and the NSCN (I-M) are set to hold talks at Amsterdam.

Informing this while taking to The Sangai Express, deputy kilonser of the Ministry of Information and Publicity of the NSCN (I-M), K Chawang said that representatives of the Government of India and chairman and secretary of NSCN (I-M) will hold the talks on July 28 or 29.Whether the ceasefire agreement, which is due to expire on July 31, would be extended or not would be known from the outcome of the talks, he added.

As of now nothing can be said definitely, he said.

While informing that NSCN (I-M) also supports the economic blockade being called by ANSAM along the two National Highways passing through Manipur, Chawang asserted that it is the duty of the outfit to respect the aspirations of the people.
