Imphal, November 21: Protesting the killing of Asem Brajamani alias Tomba by Imphal West commandos on the night of November 18 at Khoyathong (near Pukhri Achouba), the Phayeng road was blocked today.

The road blockade imposed under the aegis of the JAC which was constituted in connection with the killing of Brajamani continued till evening.

Contending that Brajamani was picked up from home, the JAC has been refusing to claim the body.

However, the JAC suspended their agitation for 12 hours in response to the appeal of Chief Minister in-charge Th Debendra to wait for the arrival of the Chief Minister.

As the talk between JAC representatives and Chief Minister O Ibobi held this afternoon failed to arrive at any understanding, the JAC has resolved to intensify their agitation.

Meanwhile, a press release issued by the OC of Imphal PS informed that the corpse of Asem Brajamani will be disposed off as an unclaimed body if the family members and relatives do not claim it by 11 am tomorrow.

Due process to dispose off the corpse is being made before the District Magistrate, Imphal West, it added.
