Imphal, July 16: Even as the Family Welfare Commissioner O Nabakishwor has submitted a preliminary report on the alleged appointment of 100 nurses under the Reproductive Child Health Project in the Family Welfare Department, Chief Minister O Ibobi has ordered a Departmental Inquiry into the matter.

The report of the preliminary inquiry was submitted to the Commissioner DP, DS Poonia to be forwarded to the Chief Minister.

The preliminary inquiry was necessitated as the appointments were allegedly effected in violation of the Government ban on fresh recruitment.

According to official source, the preliminary inquiry was submitted without any finding and lacked authenticity.

A Cabinet decision necessitated the departmental inquiry to be conducted by V Chhibber, Principal Secretary Finance after going through minute details on the week-long preliminary report, said the source.

Despite intimation sent to Dr Rabei, Director Family Welfare, for submission of Article Charge Sheet by DP, a positive response from the former is yet to be received till date, said the source, adding that further inquiry to be conducted by A Chhibber has been delayed due to the non-submission of the Article Charge-Sheet.
