UCM ready to meet Naga CSOs at right time

Imphal, May 13 2010: The United Committee Manipur appreciated the Coordination Committee of Naga Civil Society for requesting for a talk but expressed unhappiness when they are unable to entertain the request citing it would not be possible for UCM leadership to leave station owing to the prevailing highly critical situation in Manipur.

The UCM nevertheless look forward to meet the Naga civil society at an appropriate time and place in the near future, a statement signed by its president Yumnamcha Dilipkumar.

Meanwhile, the UCM also while reiterating that Muivah tried to enter Manipur with a hidden agenda of the Central government and people of the two neighboring states are suffering by the hidden agenda and will continue to suffer till Centre is going with it.

The long practice "Naga appeasement policy" of the Centre is going on, conflicting situation in the north eastern region of the country, particularly in Manipur will remain, the statement observed.

It is the great failure of the Centre' policy when Union Home Minister, GK Pillai with interlocutor of the peace talk with NSCN (IM), RS Pandey could not convinced the leader of the NSCN (IM) after hearing Manipur government's stand on his visit in the state.

It was also a riddle to the people of the state.

It is sure to chalk out a strategy by the Centre after return of GK Pillai.

At this point of time, UCM urged the state government not to change its mind and stand firm with the decision it has taken with regard to barring of Muivah entering the state.

At the same time, it is also need of the hour to try to bring normalcy in the state as if Muivah also firm on his stand, it is sure to happen a great uprising in the state.

Before this, Centre should resolve the impasse, the UCM appealed.

The UCM also appealed the people of the state to strengthen the unity of the people for solving the chaotic situation in the state as people voice against the Centre's hidden policy is needed to go ahead.
