Imphal, October 12 2009: Someone from the group of KCP (MC) Lanheiba faction reportedly conveyed the information about the death of its captain Nganba.

But the family members are suspicious about the veracity of the information.

Talking to mediapersons in this regard at the Khurai Thoudam Leikai residence of captain Nganba today evening, his mother Thoudam Ongbi Bilashini said that the information was conveyed through telephone by someone from the group of KCP (MC) Lalheiba faction.

Disclosing that her son had visited her on August 1 last and left taking some medicines saying he was not feeling well, Bilashini said that as no information about her son has been received for the last three months, she finally contacted some of the members of the group and one of them conveyed through telephone that her son passed away in Bangladesh and the last rites due to a deceased person too had been performed.

The member also informed that family members that captain Nganba passed away 2/3 days after the raising day of the group which was observed on August 3 .

''So the claim that my son, who had left from home on August 1, passed away at Bangladesh is suspicious and he may have been assassinated'', the mother said, while demanding leader of the group to come out with a clarification on why her son had been killed and what were his faults.

''Whatever may be the fault, eliminating a person simply and without taking into confidence of the family members is not acceptable'' , Bilashini said. Questioning how is to supposed to believe the information about the death of her son without seeing his body, Bilashini further said that the ambiguity over the claim that her son passed away here in Manipur at one instance and then at Bangladesh in another instance apart from the fact that no explanation on the cause of the death has raised suspicion in the mind of all the family members.

The mother appealed to all concerned to let her see the body of her son and allow to perform the necessary last rites.
