Imphal, August 07: Braving the scorching Sun, hundreds of students took out a mass rally at Kumbi area today in protest against child abduction and recruiting them as child soldiers by militants being witnessed at different parts of the State over the last couple of months.

Organised under the aegis of All Manipur Young Pioneers' Organisation (AMYPO), Kumbi Centre, the protest rally participated by students coming from different schools of Kumbi and its surrounding areas commenced from Kumbi Bazar at around 11.30 am.

After covering all the important places of the surrounding area, the rally concluded at Kumbi Bazar at around 2 pm.

Along with carrying placards and festoons inscribed with slogans like 'Stop child kidnapping at once', 'We want peace not war, 'Allow us to study in peace and play happily in the lap of our mothers', the young participants also shouted slogans in union throughout the course of the rally.
