Imphal, June 06: Following the bashing up of Tata truck owner Mutum Heramani of Waithou Tronglaobi by one Gojendro of Thoubal Ningombam following a road mishap on June 1, the JAC constituted in this connection has demanded seizure of the gun issued to Gojendro and cancel his gun licence.

In a memorandum submitted to the Deputy Commissioner, Thoubal district, the JAC also urged the authority to punish all those involved in thrashing Heramani and opening fire at his home.

Speaking to media persons at Thoubal Achouba today, JAC president AK Memcha Leima observed that apart from the incident of collision between Heramani's truck and Gojendro's car (Maruti Swift), the act of Gojendro and his party bashing up Heramani and opening fire at his home was not acceptable.

It was a blatant abuse of power and against the established laws of the land, she noted.

Asking the position of Gojendro, apart from being a relative of Chief Minister O Ibobi, so as to warrant him weapons and security guards, the JAC wanted to know the price of hiring commando personnel in order to take on armed gangs.

The JAC further questioned the number of security personnel and guns provided to Gojendro.

"Can the civilians hire commandos as mercenaries to fight for them?", the JAC asked.

Demanding that their demands be fulfilled by June 8, the JAC warned that intense agitation will be launched in case their demands are not implemented within the deadline set.
