Imphal, May 05 2010: Deputy chairman of Manipur State Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam has said that his security escort personnel may be withdrawn any time, if necessary, to meet the contingency in view of the arising situation at Mao gate.

Talking to this newspaper today, the Deputy Chairman said that the ceasefire between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM is not extended to Manipur.

The NSCN-IM leader, Th Muivah may be a king in Nagaland but he is a criminal here in Manipur.

The peace talk between the NSCN-IM and the Centre is welcome, but if it is going to creat disturbances in Manipur, it can't be accepted, the MLA said.

He said, the Centre's decision to allow Th Muivah to visit Manipur had been taken in a hasty manner.

Before the Centre consented to Muivah's request for a visit to Manipur, it should have consulted the State Government.

Because it concerns the interest of the state, and it is a state issue.

Bijoy Koijam further said that in trying to appease a community, a state should not be destroyed.
