Imphal, January 29: Three suspects in the murder of school girl, Lungnila Elizabeth, Ningombam Rome, Nameirakpam Inaobi and Sagolsem Surjit have today been remanded further to police custody till 2 pm of January 31.The remand order was issued by the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate, Imphal.

The three suspects were earlier demanded to custody by the same court since January 19.N Rome alias Romen son of Tomba of Bashikhong Mamang Leikai was earlier captured by the UNLF.

While in the custody of the outfit, the accused had spilled the beans and detailed the sordid crime in the presence of media persons.

In their application submitted to the Court, the police said that Rome is being interrogated intensely to verify his statements made before the media.

The three suspects have still not come out with the whole truth, the investigating officer of the Special Investigation Team said in his application.

Since there are possibilities that the three suspects may reveal something new, the SIT officer prayed before the Court to remand them to police custody for five more days for further interrogation.

SIT has already registered an FIR against the three under section 364A/368/400 IPC.
