Post poll violence still mars CCpur

Lamka, February 26: In yet another case of poll related violence, two elderly sisters allegedly made an attempt to cut off the earlobe of another woman.

Dimlhing and her sister, Lalnem yesterday at around 9 am attempted to cut off the earlobe of a widow identified as Lhaivah, 35 w/o (L) Seilal at T Molkot village, about 8 kms from CCpur police station.

Related to the village chief, the two sisters allegedly made the daring attack with a shaving blade after an aggressive argument they had on polling day.

With a partly cut earlobe Lhaivah, the victim was brought to the district hospital for treatment later yesterday by LJP workers � the party she supported.

In another incident, a 35 year old man identified as Daniel, was brutally attacked by unidentified men at Tuibuang village on Saturday night, while Zenzaching 54, of New Lamka, her son Goukhansang 26, and Lam Daniel 21 of Lingsiphai were injured last night allegedly during a poll related fracas at their respective locality.

They are now under treatment at the district hospital here.
