No change in BJP team scheduled visit

Imphal, June 19 2010: Even though the 68 day long economic blockade on the national highways in the state suspended temporarily, there is no change in the scheduled visit of BJP Central team led by opposition leader in the Lok Sabha, Sushma Swaraj.

National spokesperson of the BJP, Prakash Javedkar has informed former president of the Manipur unit of the party today that the team will come to the state as per scheduled as they need to assess the fallout of the prolonged blockade that severely hit common people's life in the state.

Not only this, the announcement made earlier for observing "Manipur solidarity day" on June 23 in coincide with the observance of death anniversary of its leader Sama Prakash Mukherjee which was taken in the national executive meeting concluded recently will also remain unchanged, BJP source said today.

During the visit, the Central team will take stock of the situation regarding the measures taken up by the government for the people of the state who suffered hardships as a result of the prolonged imposition of economic blockade in the state by Naga bodies, the source added.
