Imphal, November 17 2009: Reacting to charges levelled by the proscribed KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) group, after slaying deputy army chief of the KLO/KLA namely Thangboi alias Robinson, Information and Publicity secretary of the KLO/KLA Addy Kuki has dismissed the KCP's allegations as unfounded, baseless and concocted.

Speaking to some newspersons at a Sadar Hills area today, Addy said after a split within the KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) group, some of the latter's cadres contacted KLO/KLA functionaries on telephone seeking shelter/protection which the KLO/KLA obliged as a gesture to fellow revolutionaries.

A per KLO/KLA's cabinet decision, thangboi was appointed as its deputy army chief and was consequently deputed as a negotiator to try and amicably resolve the issue of factionalism within the KCPMC (Lamyanba Khuman) group.

However, on his way back after meeting the other KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) group, Thangboi was mercilessly shot dead, Addy maintained and outrightly rejected the KCP group's allegation of Thangboi being slain to avenge the death of two KCP cadres by a combined team of KLO/KLA and troops of 57 Mountain Division on the intervening night of October 27-28 at K Songlung area.

Vehemently decrying KCP's allegation that Thangboi was given capital punishment for the death of the two KCP cadres at the hands of the SF-UG combine, Addy Kuki clarified that under no circumstance had the KLO/KLA colluded with the security forces.

While disclosing that the two KCP-MC cadres (Lamyanba Khuman) killed at K songlung area, in between Tamenglong and Senapati district, were the same persons who had slain their colleagues owing to internal differences in the KCP group and contacted their KLO/KLA comrades seeking protection, Addy Kuki accused KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) faction as an armed outfit that had been causing confusion and creating divisions amongst various underground organisations.

Declaring that KLO/KLA has unflinching commitment for a unified movement and respects all the underground groups operating both in the hills and plain areas, Addy affirmed that inspite of thangboi's brutal murder KLO/KLA's vision would not be diluted.

Suggesting that spot inquiry at S Songlung area with regard to the death of the two KCP cadres would certainly unravel the truth, he reiterated that agenda of KCP-MC (Lamyanba Khuman) group seem to be driving wedge amongst the revolutionary groups.

Raising a poser what objective and goal is the KCP-MC group pursuing or advocating, the KLO/KLA secretary further highlighted that Thangboi alias Robinson was a committed and broad minded individual and his demise would be an irreparable loss to the KLO/KLA organisation.

Exuding confidence that Thangboi's death would rekindle the bond of fraternity amongst various UG groups, Addy also conveyed gratitude to all who shared sorrow and solidarity to the KLO/KLA in its hour of crisis.
