Imphal, December 13 2008: Even as a corpse out of two persons killed during a reported shoot-out with a combined team of Thoubal police commandos and troops of 34 AR at Yerumching located to the East of Uyan village in Thoubal district on December 11 has been claimed by family members today, a joint action committee has been constituted against the killing of the other.

The corpse of Md Aslamuddin (20) s/o Kamarudin of Yairipok Changamdabi was claimed today after completion of post mortem at Lilong PHC today.

But a JAC has been constituted against the killing of Md Rahimuddin (18) s/o Jalaluddin of Yairipok Heitroipokpi.

Contending that Rahimuddin was innocent, JAC members together with a large number of people came from Yairipok to Imphal today to register their protest to the Chief Minister.

But they were blocked by police at Palace Compound area.

Later, some representatives of the JAC and MLA K Meghachandra were allowed to meet Chief Minister O Ibobi.

During the meeting, the JAC demanded a judicial enquiry into the killing.

They also submitted a memorandum to the CM.

To their response, CM made assurance to consider the matter after summoning the SP concerned.

However, the JAC's memorandum maintained that various sorts of agitation will be launched in case their demands are not fulfilled within five days.

The memorandum also mentioned that Rahimuddin was picked up from his home in the midnight of Dec 10 by some commando personnel in civvies.
