Imphal, July 12: The two persons who were killed by security forces in separate shoot outs which took place respectively at Wangbal and Thoubal Khunou of Thoubal district yesterday afternoon and night and another person killed by Imphal East District Police Commandos at Kairang Maning Leikai yesterday afternoon have been identified today.

The person who was killed by Thoubal Police Commandos at Wangbal has been identified as one Moirangmayum Ibomcha (25) s/o late Samu of Nongpok Ingourok.

Family members claimed that he was an innocent person having no connection with any underground organisation.

He was a married man having two kids, they said.

The second person who was shot dead by a combined force of Thoubal Police Commandos and personnel of 38 Assam Rifles during an alleged encounter which took place at around 11.30 pm of July 10 at Thoubal Khunou has been identified as Langam Ananda (28) s/o Samu of Ningel Mamang Leikai.

Family members claimed that he had been picked up by Assam Rifles personnel from Yairipok Pechi at around 2 pm of July 10.Anand was engaged in a carpentry works operated from the house of one of his maternal aunties at Nongpok Sekmai, they said.

Both the bodies have been handed over to their respective family members after post-mortem examination at Lilong PHC today.

On the other hand, the person who was shot dead by Imphal East Police Commandos at Kairang Maning Leikai yesterday afternoon has also been identified as Wangkhem Pritam (23) s/o Ibomcha of Kairang Maning Leikai.

His body too has been taken away by the family members after post-mortem at RIMS today.
