Imphal, July 09: In the light of the prevailing situation following stringent restrictions imposed by UNLF and KYKL after around 300 villagers of Heirok started undergoing training for the SPOs at Manipur Police Training School, Pangei, a joint meeting of the Meira Paibis and the people was convened at Heirok Part-II Bazar this afternoon.

After a serious deliberation on the agenda of the meeting, 'Unsettling situation prevailing in Heirok after accepting the SPO offer' , the meeting unanimously adopted four resolutions.

The first resolution categorically stated that since the people are not in favour of SPOs, the State Government should set up Heirok Protection Force or Village Protection Force.

The second resolution said that various movements would be launched by the people of Heirok to ensure implementation of the first resolution within July 15 .

The third resolution urged the underground groups to relax the restriction imposed on Heirok people for sometime while efforts are being made to bring about an amicable solution.

The last and fourth resolution made it clear that various intense agitation would be launched in the event of the failure on the part of the State Government to fulfil the demands highlighted in the numerous memorandum submitted in the past.
