Imphal, May 04: Contending that the conduct of the 14th Lok Sabha election to the two Parliamentary seats of the State was most peaceful and free and fair in comparison to previous elections, Elders Forum, Manipur has urged the Election Commission of India to make arrangements for counting of the votes for Outer and Inner Manipur Parliamentary Constituencies simultaneously on May 13.In a representation submitted to the Chief Election Commission of India through the Chief Electoral Officer of the State, Elders' Forum, Manipur which is sponsoring Independent candidate for the Outer seat Mani Charenamai, maintained that election in the hill areas have been completed without any major incident.

It is the only vested interested candidates who are charging that there were booths riggings and instances of intimidation and interference from various underground outfits, Forum chairman S Shothang said in the representation, contending that all these are nothing but to create confusion and blame the Government electioneering machineries.

Meanwhile, ex-president of Jiribam Town Committee Tahiamang Panmei, in another representation, has urged the Chief Election Commissioner of India for holding repolling in 21 polling stations of-II Outer Manipur Parliamentary Constituency within May 10 so as to ensure counting of the votes as schedule on May 13.
