Houses of accused destroyed

Imphal, December 02: Angry mob today destroyed the houses of two persons who were allegedly involved in the killing of Wahengbam Ibochou alias Janeshore who was found hacked to death on November 23.The accused persons whose houses have been destroyed are identified as Wahengbam Dhaneshore (52) who is a neighbour of the victim and Wahengbam Loken (45) of Wangoi Makha Leikai.

Dhaneshore and Loken are related to each other from the sides of their wives who are sisters.

According to information culled from the site of the incident, at around 2.30 pm today, an angry mob gathered and destroyed the houses of Dhaneshore causing damages to one Kinetic Honda, Granary and other properties inside the house.

After finishing their job, the angry mob came to target the house of Loken at Wangoi Makha Leikai.

Police arrived in time and dispersed the mob.

However, at around 5 pm, after the police left, the mob reassembled again and destroyed the house, although all the properties have already been shifted elsewhere.

Before the arrival of the mob, police reportedly searched the house of Loken and recovered one Khudei with what appears to be blood stain on it.

It may be recalled here on November 30, police have arrested in all five persons in connection with the gruesome killing.

Dhaneshore and Loken are among the five persons pulled up.

It is said Ibochou and Dhaneshore had some dispute over land.
