Imphal, April 02: The Mao Students' Union, Delhi (MSUD) has strongly condemned the dastardly act of kidnapping and killing of two innocent school going children, Hrinii Hubert and Muheni Martin at Senapati.

In a statement the union said that the gruesome murder reflects the moral bankruptcy and degeneration of the system of accountability and the rule of law "in our present day society." The killing has shaken the conscience of every citizen and such kind of heinous crime has no place in the civilized society.

This grisly crime also reflects the entrenchment of gun culture, making easy money, greed and loss of human values.

Some suspects are also in the custody of underground organizations, said the student body and questioned why they still remain silent on the issue for so long since the kidnap on December 14, 2006.The student body has also asked the underground organizations concerned to reveal the outcome of their investigation to the public without further delay.

"We want transparency and justice, without any prejudice irrespective of the involvement of any person, group or organizations," it added.

MSUD also demanded that the culprits be handed over to the People's Court so that the truth can be revealed once and for all and, a befitting punishment given thereafter.
